Pro Scooters for 4 & 5 Year Olds

The smallest pro scooters Madd Gear makes. At this age the decision is almost entirely about size. A scooter that is too tall is the most common reason a young rider quietly stops using one.

What fits at four and five

The Carve Pro-X at $69.99 is the smallest here, fitting riders from 3'6" up to 5'0". The MG1 Raven and MG2 Obsidian at $89.99 are the next step up. Every scooter on this page is rated by Madd Gear from age 5.

If they are four

Four-year-olds vary enormously. If they are already 3'6" and confident on a kick scooter, the Carve Pro-X will work. If they are shorter than that, or still working on balance, a folding kick scooter is the better first buy. They will get more use out of it and move up within a year.

What you do not need yet

Metal cores, oversized bars and lighter decks start to matter once a rider is landing tricks. At four and five, a scooter they can pick up and carry themselves matters more.
